Nightmare of Isolation

Memories float on

Until the wind has gone,

This dark street of despair

Left empty again.

A feeling of loneliness

Sweeps over a man

Wrapped in solitude.

He sits on this dark street

Wounded inside.

He’s sick of being by himself,

Sick of this private hell.

Man was never meant

To be alone.

Adam had Eve

And yet he

Has no one.

He remembers

The memories

As they floated by.

He remembers

The images

Of his life

That went past.

So many missed opportunities

And so many mistakes.

If only he

Could live those moments again,

Then maybe

He wouldn’t be

On this dark street

From hell.

He hopes

For a brighter future,

One where he

Is no longer alone.

Someday, he’ll have someone to love.

Someday, he’ll have someone to cherish.

Someday, he’ll have someone to take care of.

Someday, he’ll have someone to protect.

Someday, he’ll have someone to fight for.

And someday, he’ll have someone who loves him.

But that day

Can’t come soon enough,

As they are his hopes,

They are his dreams,

They are what he wishes for,

To take him

To the light

At the end

Of this street.
